Using a J a i l broken option was the only option I saw on forums and that was not acceptable as I don't want to jailbreak my phone. Because iPhone mark unread is not an option for text messages, you will need to work around by either forwarding the text to yourself or making a note to. I use my email as my follow up reminder system already for everything. I often email myself things I have to do so I can take care of them later. Or if someone I am talking to asks me to send them a follow up I email myself the reminder right there.
